Hearing Health Checks Cost: Free
A hearing health check aims to find out if your hearing is working well and will take about 20 minutes. If your hearing is within normal limits, then we will see you in a year’s time for a further free check-up. If we find a problem at your hearing health check, then we can refer you back to your GP or promptly book you in to one of our diagnostic audiology appointments for a thorough assessment of your ears and hearing.
Full diagnostic assessment Cost: Free
A thorough testing procedure using the latest diagnostic equipment that allows us to determine the type, degree and nature of hearing loss.
Otoscopy:
This is where we look down the ear canals and examine the ear drums using a little torch.
Audiometry:
Here we look at the softest sounds that you can hear across a range of pitches. This will tell us exactly what your hearing range is.
Speech testing:
In this test you will hear a list of words and the results will tell us how well you are processing speech in quiet environment.
Speech in Noise testing:
This test will examine how well you hear speech in noisy places like restaurants or pubs.
Results:
Good hearing health is key to maintaining a healthy brain. Visual tools are used to help you understand your hearing health and you will learn how your hearing influences your performance across a range of listening environments. This stage is never rushed and you will have plenty of time to ask questions and recap on what you have learned.
Follow Up:
We will agree how to move forwards to maintain good hearing health. This may mean a hearing health check in 6 – 12 months’ time or exploring what hearing technology can do for you.
Microsuction wax removal Cost: £55
Your assessment will include a free ear health check and if we find that you have a blockage we can remove it using the safest technique, Microsuction. We would normally ask that you put olive oil in your ears the night before and morning of your appointment to help loosen the wax for easy removal.
Microsuction home appointments Cost: £100+

Most current hearing instrument technology has wireless capabilities. This enables the patient to connect their instruments to a variety of streaming devices such as television, mobile phone, ipads, MP3 and much more.
